To mark Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams' 30th anniversary, artist Tennessee Loveless worked with Modern Toile, an exclusive printed fabric that reads like a visual timeline of the brand's history. Rendered in his signature maximalist Sketchwave style, the design weaves together symbols and text that trace the company's roots and evolution.
Every image carries meaning: an emerald nods to Hiddenite, North Carolina — known as Emerald City — where the brand's upholstery frames are built. An apple represents Taylorsville, or Apple City, home to company headquarters. Leaves signal a commitment to eco-friendly manufacturing, a lightbulb stands for innovation, and an American flag marks where it all comes together. Anchoring the design is Lulu, the brand's beloved bulldog mascot, who takes center stage on the fabric as it upholsters the relaxed, retro-inspired frame of the Cooper swivel chair.
The collection debuted at High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina — the world's largest home furnishings trade show.
