RPDR VIXEN

Tennessee Loveless's artwork, though later heightened by his work in Disney fine art, found its audience before that — rooted in his foundational work within queer West Coast culture. His first subjects when learning to paint in the early 2000s were the drag queens of San Francisco. Years later, as his collection grew through residencies in Seattle and Los Angeles, Tennessee's drag work eventually found its home with World of Wonder in Hollywood. He was brought in by James St. James to feature his portraits of queens at the opening gala and gallery show for the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race in January 2009.

Years later, out in Chicago during his project "Drag Landscapes," he collaborated with The Vixen ahead of her debut on Season 10, where she dressed as his portrait of her on the runway on VH1.
